Jesus told stories to challenge people to think differently. About God. And about how He interacts with us. These stories are known as parables.

The parables were often shocking to the people who heard them as the meanings held a real twist compared to their accepted beliefs. The Twist DVD unpacks some of Jesus’ parables to allow viewers to better understand what Jesus was getting at, and to be able to share the heart of those stories in a modern context.

You’ll look at things such as:

How and why stories engage us, and why Jesus used them so much
Exploring some of the cultural and theological context of Jesus’ time.
Understanding the concept of kingdom, and how God’s kingdom is portrayed in Jesus’ parables.
Exploring how electronic media shapes and influences us, and how we might present a parable in a 21st century context without losing the heart of Jesus’ message.

Twist is interactive, comprehensive, and fun.

Twist comes on DVD and is set out in a curriculum format, with full running sheets, (including session topics and aims, duration) and all worksheets in printable PDF format. Each of the 4 sessions includes video clips of a narrator who introduces the sessions, and draws together the key points.
